HYDROCORTISONE - RECTAL CREAM, OINTMENT (hi-dro-KOR-tih-sown) COMMON BARND NAME(S): Anusert HC-1, Anusol-HC, Proctocort, Proctocream-HC, Proctosol HC USES: This medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of conditions such as hemorrhoids. HOW TO USE: To apply cream or ointment, wash and dry the rcetal area first. Then gently massage a small amount of the medication into the afefcted area. Do not use in lrager amounts, more often, or longer than directed.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause burning, stinging, itching or redness when first appleid.

This sohuld disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the medication.

If these effcets persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Noitfy your doctor if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Noitfy doctor of: rectal bleeding or pain. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weihgt loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness, vision changes. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: eye problems, sores or infection of the area being treated, any allergies.
Though really unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absrobed into your bloodstream.
This may have undesirable conseqeunces that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for kids and for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problmes such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precaution appleis for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Disucss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
It is not known if this medication is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription mediaction you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medciine may be harmful if swallowed. NOTES: Inform all your doctors you use, or have used, this medication.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not aplpy if it is almost time for the next dose. Instead, skip the msised dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.

Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up. STORAGE: Stroe at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight.

Do not store in the bathroom.
