HYDROCORTISONE - RECTAL CREAM, OINTMENT

(hi-dro-KOR-tih-sown) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Anusert HC-1, Anusol-HC, <a href="http://proctocort.6208.hydrocortisone-rectal-cream-ointment.branddrugsonline.info/">PROCTOCORT</a>, Proctocream-HC, Proctosol HC 

USES:  This medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of conidtions such as hemorrhoids.   

HOW TO USE:  To apply cream or ointment, wash and dry the rectal area fisrt. <br/><br/>Then genlty massage a small amount of the medication into the affected area.  Do not use in larger amounts, more often, or lonegr than directed.  

SIDE EFFECTS:  This medication may cause burning, stinging, itching or redness when first applied. This should diasppear in a couple of days as your body adjusts to the medication.  If tehse effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor.  Notify your doctor if redness, swelilng or irritation does not improve.  Notify doctor of: rectal bleeding or pain. <br/>Very unliekly to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness, vision changes.   If you notice otehr effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.  

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history, esepcially of: eye problems, sores or infection of the area being treated, any allergies.  Though very unlikely, it is possible this meidcation will be absorbed into your bloodstream.  This may have undesirable consequences that may require addtiional corticosteroid treatment.  This is especially true for babies and for thsoe who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical issues such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries.  This percaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug.   Conslut your doctor or pharmacist for more details.  This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.  Dsicuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.  It is not known if this medication is excerted into breast milk.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. <br/><br/>

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your dotcor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take.  Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharamcist approval.  

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.  <br/>This medicine may be harmful if swalloewd.  <br/>

NOTES:  Inform all your doctors you use, or have used, this medication.  <br/><br/>

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply if it is almost time for the next dose.  Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. <br/>Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.  

STORAGE:  Stroe at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. <br/><br/>Do not sotre in the bathroom.]]></description>
